All our access panels are available with Biocote, which makes them suitable for use in a broad spectrum of environments where good hygiene practices are essential. Exitile’s panels with Biocote are independently tested and are effective against a wide range of bacteria including MRSA, E-coli and are mould resistant.
BioCote is impregnated into the access panels at the manufacturing stage as within the panel the antimicrobial works effectively as it releases silver ions to the surface.
BioCote’s active agent is based on silver, which is a recognised antimicrobial and is widely used and accepted throughout the NHS for this reason.
When bacteria appears on the surface the silver within the panel binds with it and a process called denaturalization occurs, meaning that the bacteria is unable to produce energy, which kills it.
