Intro

The EX/CG ceiling access panel is designed to fit into a Concealed Grid type suspended ceiling system. Various types are available, depending upon the type of grid and tile used.

Construction

Constructed from 1.2mm and 1mm thick Zintec Steel, with a polyester powder coating of matt white Ral 9010, 20% Gloss (other colours available upon request). The recessed door tray is fitted with a sliding pin hinge and has a removable loose edge to enable a ceiling tile to be inserted into it. The panel is secured using a budget lock. Alternative lock types can be provided upon request.

Standard sizes are shown below. Non-standard sizes can be manufactured upon request. When ordering please state the size, type and thickness of the ceiling tile to be used within the ceiling system. For more information please contact our technical sales department. 300 x 300mm, 600 x 300mm (hinged on long side), 600 x 600mm, 900 x 600mm (hinged on long side), 900 x 900mm, 1200 x 600mm (hinged on long side), 1200 x 1200mm (double door)

Fitting

The CG is designed to sit on the primary channels within the ceiling system and will require independent bracing and support which is sufficient to secure and also allow safe opening of the access panel within the ceiling system. These access panels can be fitted with a Controlled Action Device (CAD) upon request. This allows the panel door to open approx. 150mm before being arrested. By pulling the door tray towards you the door can then be fully opened. For access panels greater than 1200 x 600mm, due to the weight of the door, it is advisable to request the fitting of safety chains.
