Intro

The EX/CIRC range of ceiling access panels provide easy access to services in various types of ceiling systems.

Description

Consists of a flush metal door with a beaded frame to allow for tape and skimming on site. Made from wholly non-combustible materials in accordance with BS476 part 4.

Construction

Constructed from 1.2mm thick Zintec steel, which is fully powder coated in matt white Ral 9010, 20% gloss (other colours available upon request). The method of hinging and locking is dependent on the actual size and weight of the panel. For further information please contact our Technical Sales Department.

Dimensions

Our circular panels are supplied in 300mm, 450mm and 600mm diameter sizes as standard. Non standard panel sizes available upon request. For further information please contact our Technical Sales Department.

Fitting

When installing the access panel, the actual size of structural opening in the ceiling needs to be 5mm greater than the overall panel dimension e.g. structural opening for 600mm diameter panel will be 605mm. The access panel will require independent bracing and support, which is sufficient to secure and also allow safe opening of the access panel within the wall/ceiling system. The panel is inserted directly into a pre-cut hole through the face of the ceiling membrane prior to wet finishes being applied, and screw fixed through the side of the frame into suitable bracing. (Please note that it is important that prior to applying the plaster skim coat, a joint filler and a scrim tape is applied over the junction between the beaded frame and the plasterboard in order to prevent cracking of the skim coat.)
